Our sons (combined) allergies are Peanuts, Tree nuts, Milk, Egg, Soy, Gelatin, Legumes, Crustaceans and Kiwi (plus a plethora of environmental factors). Here are a few tricks, recipes, trials and tribulations found throughout our quest to give our kids some semblance of a normal childhood. ALWAYS *ALWAYS* READ LABELS CAREFULLY, and contact manufacturers to double-check. If in doubt, avoid.

Allergist follow-up
Went for annual follow-up last week. He took the battery of skin tests like a pro. He confirmed the food allergies, and tested for distinct grasses (+ve for most/all). He gave us a referral for blood tests; hopefully some will be low enough we can proceed to the ultimate test, the oral challenge...
Pancakes
Preheat griddle (med-hi)
Mix dry ingredients in large bowl:
1.5 cups buckwheat, spelt and/or ww flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cream of tartar
1/2 tsp salt
Pour in:
1.5 cups rice milk
3 tbsp (canola) oil
2 tsp maple syrup (optional)
and mix lightly.
Spoon onto griddle (add a few choc chips if on hand), flip once.
Add water to mix if too thick and fluffy.
Sweet variation:
2 tsp maple syrup (optional) with wet ingredients
Spiced variation:
1 tsp (total) cinnamon AND/OR ginger (if fresh grated, blend well with wet ingredients first); or
1/2 tsp nutmeg; or
1/8 tsp cloves; or
1.5 tsp pumpkin pie spice
